THERAPEUTIC ORIENTATION

I practice a type of psychotherapy that is existential, interdisciplinary, and integrative, which draws from the fields of neurobiology, psychology, social work, philosophy, education, and the arts. Each of these fields has contributed to understanding human nature and the causes of human suffering, large or small.

At the core of my philosophy is the belief that every human being is born with a positive orientation to life, and needs to be listened to with respect and kindness. As we explore problems or issues, whether they be due to anxiety, depression, substance abuse, relationship concerns, anger, sadness or a feeling of paralysis, you will gain insight, learn to expand and/or develop positive coping strategies, and develop the internal resources to lead a more fulfilling and productive life.
